1Information we collect

• Sound recordings: the clips you record (10 seconds on Free, up to 60 seconds on Pro), the sound source you picked and when the noise happens.
• Vehicle data: brand, model, optional year, optional license plate and colour tag.
• Results and history: estimates, safety verdicts, scores and maintenance logs.
• Account data: your email address and optional name, if you create an account.
• Purchase data: plan, status and renewal date, received from Apple or Google. We never see your card details.
• Device and ad data: device type, app version, crash logs and, on the Free plan, an advertising identifier if you allow it.

2Guest mode

As a guest, your vehicles, history and results are stored on your device. Recordings are still sent to our servers in Frankfurt, Germany to be analysed. You can clear guest data in Settings at any time.

3How we use it

We do not sell your personal data.

• To analyse recordings and show your estimate, safety verdict and history.
• To run your account, the one-time sign-in code and your subscription.
• To improve our sound models, unless you opt out (see below).
• To show ads on the Free plan and measure them.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

4How VroomScan learns

Estimates get better as the model hears more vehicles. With your permission, we use recordings and the related vehicle details to train our models. Before training, recordings are separated from your email and account and stored with a random identifier. You can switch off "Help improve estimates" in Settings, and future recordings will only be used to produce your own result.

5Where your data is stored

All VroomScan data, including recordings, vehicles, results, history and account details, is stored and processed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers in Frankfurt, Germany, inside the European Union. AWS acts as our data processor under a data processing agreement and may not use your data for its own purposes.

For users in Türkiye, this means your data is transferred abroad. See Data Processing for the legal basis of this transfer.

6Sharing

We share data only with providers that help run VroomScan, such as cloud hosting (AWS, Frankfurt), analytics, app stores and ad partners, under contracts that require them to protect it. If you send a report to a mechanic, we share it only with the person you choose. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

7Advertising

On the Free plan, our ad partners may use your advertising identifier to show and measure ads. On iOS we ask for permission first through App Tracking Transparency. In the EU, UK and Türkiye we ask for consent before personalised ads. You can change this at any time in your device settings. Pro removes ads.

8Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Recordings linked to your account are kept so you can review past scans. When you delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days. Training copies that are no longer linked to you may be kept to keep the model working.

9Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw consent and object to processing. Delete your account in Settings, or email us.

10Children

VroomScan is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
